Radu Voina (born July 29, 1950 in Sighișoara ) is a former Romanian handball player ( backcourt player ) and current handball coach .

Time as a player

Radu Voina won the bronze medal (4 goals) with the Romanian team at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, the silver medal (5 goals) at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal and the bronze medal (4 goals) again at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow . In 1974 he became world champion in the GDR with the Romanian team. He played a total of 243 international matches.

With Steaua Bucharest he won 15 championships and three national cups. In 1976/77 he won the European Champion Clubs' Cup .

Time as a trainer

As a trainer, Voina u. a. RC Strasbourg , Steaua Bucharest and the Romanian men's national team looked after. Since 2008 he has been in charge of the Romanian women's national team . On March 8, 2011, he replaced the Danish Anja Andersen as coach of the women's team CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea . In the summer of 2012 his work at CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea ended.
