Rafael da Silva Santos (born March 22, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Rafael played for America FC, Botafogo Rio de Janeiro and Campo Grande Rio in his youth. His first club in the senior sector was Ipiranga. In 2002 he was engaged in 1860 Munich, where he was used in both the first and the second team. In the Bundesliga he made his debut on September 21, 2002 (6th matchday) in the 0-0 away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern when he came on for Achim Pfuderer in the 62nd minute . In 2003 he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg, where he also stayed for only one year. He then went back to his native Brazil to join Paulista FC.
