Rafaela Spanoudaki-Chatziriga ( Greek Ραφαηλία «Ραφαέλα» Σπανουδάκη Χατζηρήγα also Rafailia Spanoudaki-Chatziriga, born June 7, 1994 ) is a Greek sprinter .

Athletic career

Rafaela Spanoudaki-Chatziriga gained her first international experience in 2017 at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she was disqualified in the 60-meter run in the preliminary round due to a false start. The following year she retired at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 7.40 seconds in the first round and won then at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in the 100-meter race in 11.53 s the silver medal behind the Frenchwoman Orlann Ombissa-Dzangue . In addition, she reached fifth place in the Greek 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.11 s. So she qualified over 100 meters for the European Championships in Berlin , where she was eliminated with 11.63 s in the run and did not qualify for the final with the relay in 44.48 s. In 2019 she again took part in the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow and was disqualified there like two years earlier in the preliminary stages. At the end of June she won the bronze medal over 100 meters at the European Games in Minsk in 11.42 seconds behind the Slovenian Maja Mihalinec and Kryszina Zimanouskaja from Belarus. By winning the bronze medal in the 200-meter run at the Balkan Championships, she qualified over this distance for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated in the first round with 23.48 s .

In 2018 and 2019 Spanoudaki-Chatziriga was the Greek champion in the 100-meter run and in 2019 also in the 4-by-100-meter relay. In the hall she secured the title over 60 meters in 2016 as well as in 2018 and 2019.
