Ragnar "Ragge" Sunnqvist (born August 11, 1908 , † November 17, 1954 ) was a Swedish motorcycle racer .

Career

Sunnqvist started for Husqvarna for many years , where he usually formed the works team together with Gunnar Kalén . In addition to his racing career, he was also a test driver for the Swedish manufacturer and was responsible for testing the road machines.

In 1932, Ragnar Sunnqvist won the Finnish Grand Prix in the 350cc class and the Swedish Grand Prix in the 500cc category. In 1933 he won the Swedish TT in Hedemora in the half-liter class. In 1934, Ragnar Sunnqvist again won his home Grand Prix in Saxtorp on the only 127 kg Husqvarna 500 developed by Folke Mannerstedt . In 1935 the Swede won the half-liter run at the AVUS race in Berlin .

In the 1936 season, Sunnqvist was in the 500 cc races for the 16ème Grand Prix de l'UMF in Saint-Gaudens and the 3rd Italian Grand Prix in Monza . At the Isle of Man TT , in which he participated this year for the only time in his career, he was 17th in the junior race (350 cm³ class) and retired from the senior race (500 cm³ class).

Even after the Second World War , Ragnar Sunnqvist still competed in motorcycle races on Husqvarna.

Ragnar Sunnqvist died on November 17, 1954. His grave is on Skogskyrkogården in Stockholm's Enskede district .
