Ragnhild Margrethe Aamodt (born September 9, 1980 in Sarpsborg , Norway ) is a former Norwegian handball player .

Career

Aamodt began playing handball at the age of four at the Norwegian club Skjeberg HK, where she later played with the women's team in the top division. In 2003 she left Norway to go hunting for goals for the Danish first division club GOG . After two years, the left-hander switched to league rivals Ikast-Bording Elite Håndbold (since late 2008 FC Midtjylland Håndbold ). With Ikast she was in the final of the EHF Cup in 2007 , but failed there at Zvezda Zvenigorod . In 2008 she won the Danish runner-up with Ikast. In summer 2009 she moved to the Norwegian club Sarpsborg IL. She ended her career in October 2012.

Aamodt has played 133 international matches for the Norwegian women's handball team , in which they scored 314 goals. In 2004 , 2006 and 2008 she won the European Championship with the Norwegian team. At the 2007 women's handball world championship in France, she was runner-up. A year later she won the gold medal at the Olympic Games .
