RaHoWa (short for Racial Holy War ) was a neo-Nazi Canadian rock / metal band.

biography

RaHoWa was founded in 1990 by George Burdi , who was also the owner of Resistance Records , the largest neo-Nazi mail order company in the USA. The band's first album , which was still clearly influenced by the RAC style, only sold moderately. The second, Cult of the Holy War , however, was a great success; it was the best - selling right-wing extremist album up to that point , and probably around 40,000 copies were sold. 1997 Burdi left the right scene and founded the esoterically influenced alternative rock band Novacosm . Rahowa disbanded in the late 1990s.

style

At the beginning, RaHoWa's music, according to Anthony Passonno, was "just as silly and bombastic" as that of the other bands on Resistance Records . The second album Cult of the Holy War, on the other hand, deviated strongly from the previous music of the white power scene as well as that of the mainstream and is described by Passonno as a mixture of hard rock , metal and goth influences with neoclassical traces which, according to Burdi, was also much more mature lyrically.

RaHoWa's texts are racist , militant and anti-Semitic . RaHoWa's material included songs by the band Skrewdriver , who were a great role model for the group.
