Raimund Hinkel

Raimund Hinkel (* 1924 in Vienna , † 3. November 2002 ) was an Austrian non-fiction author .

Raimund Hinkel came from a family that had lived in Floridsdorf since the French Wars . After completing the teacher training college, he was drafted into the German armed forces. Returning from Anglo-Canadian captivity, he became a teacher at the "elementary school for girls and boys" in Schillgasse in Jedlesee . After that he headed the "Theodor-Körner-Schule" in Donaufeld for almost twenty years . He has worked at the Floridsdorf Local History Museum since it reopened. He published numerous books and gave lectures on local history topics. In 1988 he received the Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna .
