Rainer Bölling

Rainer Bölling (* 1944 in Herford , Westphalia) is a German educator and historian .

The Abitur at the Friedrichs-Gymnasium Herford was followed by a study of history and Latin philology in Münster and Tübingen . In 1976 he passed the second state examination for higher teaching qualifications and in 1977 his doctorate in modern history. From 1977 to 1982 he taught at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and from 1984 to 1988 at the University of Essen in modern history and history didactics. In his main occupation, Bölling was a teacher from 1982 to 1984 and from 1988 to 2007 at the Hochdahl high school in Erkrath near Düsseldorf.

Since 2008 he has been pursuing a journalistic activity as an education researcher. His main interests are historical educational research, history lessons, National Socialism and Franco-German relations.
