Arnold von Vittinghoff called Schell (* December 22, 1593 ; † April 8, 1666 in Munster ) was canon at Paderborn Cathedral in what is now the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Origin and family

Arnold von Vittinghoff called Schell came from the Westphalian noble family von Vittinghoff . The rungs of the family held high offices in the church, the military, and the administration. From 1456 until the secularization in 1803 , the barons of Vittinghoff put the hereditary droids in the Essen monastery . Arnold was born as the son of the hereditary droster Bernhard von Vittinghoff (* 1550) and his wife Christiane von Brüggeney called Hasenkamp (* 1565). His older brother Konrad (* 1590) was married to Anna Catharina von Torck (* 1600).

Act

Arnold was born on 30 August 1616 by the Turnar for Dompräbende nominated canon of the late Georg von Haxthausen and gen on 19 September on gender Schell, Hasenkamp. Brüggeney, Westerholt and Keppel been sworn . On September 18, 1625 he took possession of this prebende. The election as provost of St. Mauritz in Münster fell on October 6, 1625. The elector confirmed this election three days later. Arnold was appointed assessor of the cathedral winery on April 5, 1645. On January 15, 1665 , for reasons of age , Arnold renounced the Oblegium Gronover , which he had taken possession of in 1625 after the death of Wilhelm von Elverfeldt. His nephew Wilhelm Franz von Vittinghoff called Schell took his place .

Others

In a fire in his curia on December 15, 1631, his entire inventory including important documents and documents was almost completely destroyed.
