Rainer Beckedorf

Rainer Beckedorf (born December 22, 1960 in Lüneburg ) is a German administrative lawyer and political official . From November 22, 2017 to February 2020, he was State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection .

Life

After graduating from high school (1980), Beckedorf began studying law , which he completed between 1980 and 1986 at the Universities of Hamburg and Passau and graduated in 1986 with the First State Examination at the University of Passau. After the clerkship in Lüneburg and at the Administrative Sciences Speyer (1986-1989) and the second state exam (1989) Beckedorf in the same year head of the department at the district Lüneburg before he at the 1990 district Lüneburg seconded was. In 1991 he became an assistant officer in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport , a post he held until 1992, before he became the district director of the Soltau-Fallingbostel district . In 2002 Beckedorf became First Alderman of the municipal umbrella association of the German District Assembly in Berlin , and left this position in 2003 to become head of the municipal department in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport. In 2007 he moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection , where he became department head of Department 3 (agricultural administration, regional planning and regional development).

On November 22, 2017, Minister Barbara Otte-Kinast appointed him State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection . He became the successor to Horst Schörshusen . At the beginning of February 2020 it became known that Beckedorf would be replaced as head of the ministry, followed by Ludwig Theuvsen in the position of State Secretary.

Beckedorf is divorced and has two children.
