Rainer Gerlach (born February 13, 1951 in Meine , Gifhorn district) is a German journalist, PR consultant, author and lecturer.

Life

Gerlach grew up as the only child of Kurt and Charlotte Gerlach in Meine and later in Braunschweig. Between 1974 and 1980 he studied German and history for the higher teaching post at the University of Göttingen . Later doctorate to Dr. phil. at the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on Peter Weiss . He is the father of two daughters and lives with his wife, speech therapist Heidrun Gerlach, in Aschaffenburg .

After graduating, he worked in the communications industry for more than two decades as an editor, copywriter, advertising manager, PR manager and owner of an advertising agency. In addition to numerous book publications, he has mainly dealt with the German-language literature of the 20th century in essays, reviews, radio reports and lexicon articles (" Critical Lexicon for Contemporary German Literature " and " Kindler's Literature Lexicon ") ( Franz Kafka , Arno Schmidt , Joachim Ringelnatz , Peter Altenberg etc.). He is a profound expert on the work of Peter Weiss and a member of the International Peter Weiss Society . Since 2008 he has also worked as a ghostwriter and teacher.
