Rainer Kilb

Rainer Kilb (* 1952 in Kelkheim / Taunus ) is a German educational and social work scientist. He is one of the leading academic representatives of confrontational education in Germany.

Kilb studied educational science, sports science and sociology at the University of Frankfurt , where he received his Dr. phil. received his doctorate . After graduating, he worked for two years as a sports teacher at a secondary school in Frankfurt's Gallusviertel , after which he worked for six years at the Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen youth leisure center . This was followed by activities as a research assistant and project manager at the "Institute for Youth Research and Youth Culture" and at the Institute for Social Work and Social Education (ISS eV) in Frankfurt am Main and teaching activities in the field of social work . Kilb has been a professor at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences since 2001, at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences since 2003 , and from 2006 to 2013 he was the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences there.

His main areas of work in research and teaching are: child and youth welfare , social training, youth violence , conflict management, anti-aggressiveness training, confrontational pedagogy and social work and urban development.
