Rainer Schwindt

Rainer Schwindt (* 1965 ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1985 to 1991 he studied mathematics and physics at the University of Bonn , diploma degree in mathematics and from 1991 to 1996 Catholic theology in Trier and Würzburg , diploma degree in Catholic theology, topic of the diploma thesis : “Appearance of the unity. The idea of ​​complementarity in more recent natural philosophy and in Nikolaus von Kues ”. From 1996 to 2001 he was a research assistant at the chair for New Testament at the Trier Theological Faculty . After receiving his doctorate in 2001 in Trier as Dr. theol. From 2001 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the chair for New Testament at the Theological Faculty of Trier and started his habilitation in Bonn . from 2005 to 2007 he was a specialist in Catholic theology in the library of the Episcopal Seminary in Trier. After his habilitation in 2006 and appointment as a private lecturer for introduction and exegesis of the New Testament at the Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn, thesis topic: “Faces of glory. From 2006 to 2010 he had teaching assignments in Trier, Bonn, Cologne , Koblenz and Saarbrücken for an exegetical-traditional-historical study of Pauline and Johannine Christology . In 2008 he became director of the Bischöfl library. Appointed the Trier seminary. In the summer semester 2010 he was the professor for Biblical Theology and Exegesis at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau , Koblenz campus. In the winter semester WS 2010/2011 he was appointed Professor of Biblical Theology and Exegesis at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Koblenz Campus.

His research areas are the environment and religious history of the New Testament, biblical worldviews, Christology of the New Testament (interpretation of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ), Pauline and Johannine theology in comparison, the relationship between prehistoric times and the end times: on the question of the relationship between mythological and apocalyptic thinking and History of monasteries and piety on the Middle Rhine.
