Rainer Streubel (born September 19, 1958 in Bonn ) is a German chemist .

Life

After graduating from the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium Bonn in 1977, Streubel began studying chemistry at the University of Education in Bonn in 1978 , which he completed in 1987 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn with a thesis under Edgar Niecke . He then received his doctorate in 1990 from Niecke . In 1990 he worked as a postdoc in F. Mathey's group at the École Polytechnique in Palaiseau . In 1992 he was a postdoc in the working group of W.-W. du Mont at the Institute for Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at the TU Braunschweig , where he completed his habilitation in 1997 ( Venia legendi for the subject of inorganic chemistry). From 1997 to 2000, Streubel was a private lecturer at the Technical University of Braunschweig. In 2000 the Technical University in Braunschweig appointed him an extraordinary professor . In 2003 he accepted a professorship at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.

He has been married to the doctor Gerlinde Jahns-Streubel since 1991. Streubel is a member of the Society of German Chemists and the American Chemical Society .

Streubel teaches the basics of chemistry for biologists and inorganic molecular chemistry. He researches recent developments in molecular chemistry, such as the chemistry of functional transition metal phosphanyl complexes and the template-directed synthesis of polyfunctional N, P cavitands.
