Raingard Tausch (born February 2, 1949 in Leonberg ) is a German draftsman , painter and object artist .

Live and act

After Raingard Tausch completed her studies in Heidelberg as a qualified translator, she completed an artistic training with Karl-Peter Muller at the academic workshops in Maximiliansau . Today she works as a freelance artist in Heidelberg with a focus on drawing , collage and objects .

In her paper and wire works, for which she gets inspiration from trips to distant countries, she deals with archaic cultures and non-European modern civilizations. With strange characters, codes and symbols , it bears witness to the impressions you have gathered on your travels. Your works can often be assigned to specific locations and experiences. For her collages she uses a collection of papers from many countries around the world, in which she archives handmade papers, manuscripts, nautical charts, sheet music and newspaper extracts.

For her “signs of prehistoric times” she uses natural dyes to create surfaces in various shades reminiscent of clay and loam, interspersed with stone age relics such as hand axes and spearheads.

In her “Indian Impressions” she reproduces the American desert in shades of red to almost white, and only hints at the tipis of the Indians living there in the background. In addition to large-scale collages made of paper, foil and fabric in several layers, through which she creates a three-dimensional effect, she also creates filigree wire sculptures in which fly screens and metal rods are combined with woven and crocheted elements to create imaginative objects, sometimes also book objects.

Since 1992 Raingard Tausch has successfully presented her work in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. Some works are in public collections.
