The Rayon Tschetscheliw (Ukrainian Чечелівський район / Tschetscheliwskyj rayon ; Russian Чечеловский район / Tschetschelowski rayon ) is one of eight administrative districts ( Rajone ) of the city Dnipro , the Oblastzentrums the oblast Dnipropetrowsk .
It is located in the western part of the city on the right Dneprufer and has 117,984 inhabitants (2008) and an area of about 35.90 km².
The Rajon was called Krasnohwardijske Rajon until November 26, 2015 , the name derives from the Russian word Красная гвардия / Krasnaja gwardija for Red Guard . On November 26, 2015, he was in the context of de-communization in Rajon Tschetscheliw renamed.
