Ralf Alleweldt (* 1960 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

1988 passed the first state examination in law in Passau . In 1991 he passed the second state examination in law in Wiesbaden . In 1992 he obtained a Master of Legal Studies in Comparative, European and International Law ( LL.M. ) at the European University Institute . From 1989 to 1993 he was employed as a lawyer in a law firm in Wiesbaden. Field of work: public law, in particular immigration and asylum law. After receiving his doctorate in 1995 as a Dr. iur. at Heidelberg University he has been giving lectures, seminars and workshops on international human rights protection and refugee law since 1997, in particular at training seminars of the Council of Europe and other organizations in Armenia, Estonia, Georgia, Kosovo, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. From 1993 to 2005 he was a research assistant / research assistant at the European University Viadrina , chair of public law, in particular international law, European law and foreign constitutional law. From 1998 to 2000 he was a lecturer in public law at the Administration and Business Academy in East Brandenburg . In 2001 he was an expert for the independent commission "Immigration" on ways to speed up the asylum procedure. After completing his habilitation in 2005 from the Faculty of Law in Frankfurt an der Oder . Granting the teaching certificate , he teaches Public Law and International Law since 2005 as a lecturer at the European University Viadrina. From 2005 to 2006 he taught as Professor of European Law, Comparative Constitutional Law and Human Rights Law at Yeditepe Üniversitesi . In 2006 he was a lecturer in international law at Marmara University . Since 2006 he has been a freelance consultant in the areas of human rights, migration, judicial reform, reform of legal education, European law and European studies. Expert in projects for the European Union, the Council of Europe and other organizations. Long-term projects in Armenia and Ukraine. Short-term assignments in various Eastern European countries and in West Africa. From 2007 to 2012 he was an International Scholar (Resource Fellow) in the Academic Fellowship Program of the Open Society Institute, Budapest. Advice and training for lecturers at Eastern European universities on modernizing teaching and reforming the curriculum. In 2008 he represented the chair in Konstanz (public law, European law). From 2009 to 2011 he represented the chair in Potsdam (public law, international and European law). From 2011 to 2012 he held the chair in Munich (public law). Since 2011 he has been a visiting professor for international law at the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . 2011/12 holder of the Otto von Freising visiting professorship. Since 2012 he has been professor for state, constitutional and European law at the University of the Police of the State of Brandenburg .

His research and work interests are international human rights protection, the fight against and prevention of torture, refugee law and constitutional justice.
