Ralf Bönt
Ralf Bönt (* 1963 in Lich ) is a German writer .
Life
Growing up in Bielefeld , he first completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic. He then studied physics.
Bönt has been working as a freelance writer since 1994. He has published short stories, radio plays, novels, essays and anthologies. His essays span many topics. He has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since 2017 .
At Bönt's initiative, authors from Israel and Germany came together in Berlin in May 2008 to play the first football game of the Writers' League under the patronage of Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Theo Zwanziger . His portrait “The Inverse Social Democrat” was published for the 2009 election campaign.
In his 2012 book The Dishonored Sex. Bönt writes a necessary manifesto for men that men are always automatically stylized as perpetrators and women as victims. In the past, for example, men were kept away from family life or made soldiers. Patriarchy therefore has many disadvantages that are characterized by sexisms and role expectations towards men or shorter life expectancy among men.
Ralf Bönt lives in Berlin.
reception
Wolfgang Herrndorf quotes a version of Bönt's Wikipedia article in an entry in his Internet diary Work and Structure 2010, which was later published in the book of the same name :
Bönt's appearance at the Bachmann Prize 2009 caused a sensation , where he read an artistic text about Heinrich Hertz , whose narrator is a phonon . Since the jury could not distinguish it from a photon , Bönt intervened in the discussion, although authors in Klagenfurt are supposed to remain silent according to an unwritten law from Group 47 . Obviously amused, Bönt explained the difference between light and sound to the overwhelmed jury.
Herrndorf calls the position his "all-time favorite for self-written Wikipedia entries".
