Ralf Egger

Ralf Egger , actually Adolf Egger (* 1938 in Leoben ; † December 6, 2018 in Trausdorf an der Wulka ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Ralf Egger graduated from high school in Graz and then began studying art there. From 1960 to 1965 he studied painting and restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna , from which he graduated with a diploma. Subsequently, he worked as a professional detective for three years until 1968. In 1971 he bought an old wine-growing house in Trausdorf an der Wulka , which was his domicile until 2007, after which he moved to Eisenstadt . Egger worked at the grammar schools in Mattersburg and Eisenstadt as a professor for art and visual education.

Egger's actual artistic activity began in 1968, preferring the technique of painting behind glass . In 1976 he turned to printmaking and set up his own gravure printing workshop in his country house . From 1978 to 1980 he stayed with exhibitions in the USA. From 1985 he dealt with watercolor painting in the academic tradition.

In 1983 he received the Theodor Kery Foundation's sponsorship award and was accepted into the Burgenland artist group.
