Ralf Homann

Ralf Homann (* 1962 ) is a German artist , sculptor, and feature writer. He lives and works in Munich. Homann is a member of the German Association of Artists and is active in the free class as well as in the professional association of visual artists .

Life

From July 1984 to October 1987 he worked as a freelance artist and media activist (Audionomix group together with Dieter Sitzmann). From April 1989 to July 1991 Ralf Homann did an internship at Bayerischer Rundfunk (television: Live from the Alabama / Schlachthof, Munich and Frankfurt; radio: Zündfunk), later he did an internship in the radio play and media art department; then freelance work for radio and television (author, director, moderator, CvD). From late autumn 1991 to February 1997 he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich , and in 1996 he was appointed master student of Prof. Olaf Metzel . In 1997 he obtained the diploma with object and installation.

From June 1997 to July 1999 Homann was artistic assistant at the chair for classical sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. From August 1999 to October 2005 he worked as a university lecturer at the Bauhaus University in Weimar on the establishment of a new artistic teaching area "Experimental Radio" at the new media faculty headed by the founding dean Prof. Lorenz Engell . From 2005 to 2007 Homann was a professor and visiting professor at the Bauhaus University Weimar , Faculty of Media.

In May 2011, Homann took part in the satirical show of the Bavarian Refugee Council "Bavaria is looking for the super camp " with Bernhard Wunderlich, a member of the hip-hop band Blumentopf and the cabaret artist Maria Peschek .

Awards

  • 1997 Prize of the City of Munich for New Forms of Expression in the Visual Arts (together with the Free Class Munich / jury decision)
  • 1992 Silver Award International New York Radio Festival, Museum of Television and Radio, New York and Los Angeles, for his radio report on the young right-wing extremist scene in Dresden
