Ralf Müller-Terpitz

Ralf Müller-Terpitz (* 1967 in Rockenhausen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Mannheim .

Life

Müller-Terpitz passed his Abitur in 1986, which was followed by basic military service . From 1987 he studied law, first at the University of Bonn and later at the University of Geneva . In 1993 he passed his first state examination in law in Cologne . This was followed by his legal clerkship in Cologne and New York before he passed his second state examination in 1996.

Before Müller-Terpitz finally decided to pursue an academic career, he was briefly a legal consultant at the telecommunications company o.tel.o in Düsseldorf. In 1997 he did his doctorate with Wolfgang Löwer . Subsequently, he was under his leadership until 2007 as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Law in the Scientific Law Department of the University of Bonn, during which he also completed his habilitation. In 2007 he accepted an offer from the University of Passau to succeed Herbert Bethge . 2013 he moved to the University of Mannheim , where he has since the Department of Public Law, Law of Economic Regulation and media holding.

Müller-Terpitz is among other things chairman of the commission for the determination of the concentration in the media sector (KEK), member of the association of German constitutional law teachers and co-director of the institute for German , European and international medical law, health law and bioethics of the universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim.

In September 2019 he was one of about 100 constitutional law teachers who, with the open appeal for the right to vote, Downsized the Bundestag! turned to the German Bundestag .

Müller-Terpitz is married and has two children.
