Ralph Herrmann

Ralph Herrmann (born September 23, 1949 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German painter , graphic artist and sculptor .

Herrmann made a vocational training to the typesetter . He then completed a degree at the University of Education in Essen (art and craft education) and studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Joseph Beuys and in 1974, in the last semester, with Gerhard Richter . Herrmann's artistic theme is cloud landscapes (the shaping of the formless). Exhibitions and participation in exhibitions at home and abroad.

From 1991 to 2001 he was chairman of the cooperative visual artists Weimar and until 2001 director of the gallery in the Cranachhaus , together with the artists Ulla Höpken and Pitt Moog , as well as project manager of the Weimar City of Culture 1999 project “Weimar out of the frame”. Herrmann was the founder of the Kenkmannshof artist house in Recklinghausen, which he ran together with the painter Ulla Höpken until 2007.

Herrmann teaches art education and is a freelance painter and sculptor. He lives and works in Recklinghausen .
