Ralph Mansfield, 4th Baron Sandhurst

Ralph Sheldon Mansfield, 4th Baron Sandhurst ( July 19, 1892 , † October 28, 1964 ) was a British nobleman .

Life

He was the son and heir of John Mansfield, 3rd Baron Sandhurst (1857-1933).

Ralph was educated at Winchester College and Trinity College (Cambridge) . During the First World War he served as an officer in the Royal Engineers in signal transmission and was named Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1918.

In 1933, when his father died, he inherited his title of nobility as Baron Sandhurst and the associated seat in the House of Lords .

In 1939 he returned to the Royal Corps of Signals as a staff officer and worked for MI8 . He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel .

After the war he was a director of the British Road Federation and President of Hatch Mansfield & Company .

Ralph married on February 8, 1917 Morley Victoria Upcher († 1961), a daughter of Edward Berner Upcher. The marriage had three children:
