Ralph Schumacher
Ralph Schumacher (born June 11, 1964 in Eutin , Ostholstein ) is a German philosopher and behavioral scientist.
Life
Schumacher studied philosophy in Hamburg (1985–1987) and Munich (1987–1990). At the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, he completed his master's degree and received his doctorate there in 1994. phil.
In 2001 he completed his habilitation at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 2002 to 2003 he taught philosophy at the University of Essen . Together with Elsbeth Stern at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences , he developed a curriculum for early childhood education in 2004 .
In 2005 he was Visiting Associate Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia . In the same year he led a project on the influence of music on cognitive development. Since 2006 he has coordinated a project on the influence of music on learning motivation, learning strategies and social skills. Since 2007 he has been at the Institute for Behavioral Sciences at ETH Zurich . His main areas of research are cognitive development and learning , brain and learning, theories of consciousness and perception .
