The Ramal de Mora was a railway line in Portugal with a length of approx. 60 km, which connected the city of Évora and the town of Mora .
history
The construction of the railway became necessary because there were no transport options from the region north of Évora with which agricultural goods could be transported to the metropolis of Lisbon . The construction was completed on July 11, 1908. Actually, a connection to the village of Ponte de Sor should also follow. This then took place via the Linha do Leste and was therefore no longer carried out.
At the Ramal de Mora there were formerly several large food production facilities such as the Fábrica dos Leões. In 1988 the line was closed and the rails were removed a few years later.
