Ramalina farinacea is a shrub lichen species that ismore common in Central Europe andcolonizes tree bark.
description
Ramalina farinacea is a shrub lichen that has grown together with the substrate at one point and forms up to 8 cm long, forked, flattened, narrow ribbon-shaped sections. These mostly hanging sections are 0.5 to 3 mm wide, longitudinally pitted and gray-green to green-yellow in color (both top and bottom). The species forms whitish, elliptical-oval sorals , which are mostly located on the lobes.
distribution
The species occurs throughout Europe as far as northern Fennoscandia and grows on the bark of both deciduous and coniferous trees. It develops optimally especially in higher elevation areas where there is more fog and precipitation. It is also rarely found on rock.
