Rami Gershon ( Hebrew רמי גרשון; Born August 12, 1988 in Rishon LeZion ) is an Israeli soccer player . He has been playing for Maccabi Haifa in the Ligat ha'Al , the highest Israeli division , since 2017 .

Gershon began his career in the youth team of Hapoel Rishon LeZion, from which he was brought into the first team in 2008. In his first season he was promoted from the third highest Israeli league to the second highest, the Liga Leumit .

It was then awarded to Standard Liège in Belgium. The central defender made his debut in the Jupiler Pro League on February 21, 2010 against Club Bruges . He was also used in a play-off game for the Europa League. The Israeli made his debut at European club level on February 18, 2010 against FC Red Bull Salzburg in the second round of the Europa League when he came on for Sébastien Pocognoli in the 85th minute . The game was won 3-2. He was also used in the round of 16 against Panathinaikos Athens . They were later eliminated in the quarter-finals and finished eighth in the regular season and second in Group B in the Europa League play-off.

In summer 2010 he was finally signed by Standard. From Les Rouches he was then awarded to the KV Kortrijk . In January 2013, Gershon was loaned to Celtic Glasgow , who also secured a purchase option. After the loan ended, Gershon returned to Liège, but was signed by league rival Waasland-Beveren in the summer of 2013 . He was only used irregularly there and joined KAA Gent in the summer of 2014 . In Ghent he immediately became a regular in the 2014/15 season . He lost this status with the start of the new season. In the summer of 2017 he returned to his homeland, where he hired Maccabi Haifa .

National team

In 2010 he made his debut for the Israeli national team and played a total of 26 games in seven years, in which he scored twice.
