Ramon Zupko

Ramon Zupko (born November 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American professor of composition .

Life

Ramon Zupko studied from 1954 to 1957 at the Juilliard School in New York City with Vincent Persichetti . As part of a scholarship, he took composition lessons at the Vienna Conservatory with Karl Schiske in 1958 and 1959 and continued his education at Columbia University and in Utrecht in the electronic studio. After completing his studies, he worked from 1976 to 1971 as a teacher at the Chicago Musical College of the private Roosevelt University . He moved to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1971 . There he became a professor and was the founder of the electronic studio, which he headed from 1991 to 1997. He is the composer of over 100 works.
