Ramona Pisal (born August 6, 1957 in Opladen ) is a German lawyer and president of the Cottbus Regional Court . From 2011 to 2017 she was President of the German Association of Women Lawyers .

Live and act

Ramona Pisal grew up in the Rhineland and attended a girls' grammar school in modern languages , where she passed her Abitur. She then began to study law at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , which she continued after two semesters at the University of Cologne . During her studies she worked as a student assistant at the Institute for Insurance Law. After her legal clerkship and the 2nd state examination, she was admitted to the Cologne District Court as a lawyer. On behalf of two law firms, she mainly took on insurance law mandates.

Then she entered the judicial service in North Rhine-Westphalia. Initially, she worked at the Mönchengladbach Regional Court in civil and criminal matters. After her appointment as a judge, she chaired the juvenile lay judge's court .

In 1994 Pisal was seconded to the Potsdam District Court. In addition to working as a civil judge and later as chairman of a youth lay judge's court, she also took on the role of press spokeswoman for the Potsdam district court. When she was posted to the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court in 1997, she was accepted into the judicial service of the State of Brandenburg and appointed as a judge. At first she worked in a civil senate, later in the 2nd criminal senate responsible for legal complaints, revisions, general complaints and rehabilitation procedures. In 2006 she was appointed presiding judge at the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court and held this position until 2016. In addition to her judicial work, she was also the press spokeswoman for the Higher Regional Court. From 2002 to 2016 she was also the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Higher Regional Court. In 2016 she was appointed President of the Cottbus Regional Court , the first female in this role in the state of Brandenburg.

Ramona Pisal is married, has a grown son and lives in Potsdam .

Ramona Pisal is involved in various areas on a voluntary basis. She is an active member of the German Association of Women Lawyers (djb), was chairwoman of the djb regional association in Brandenburg from 2006 to 2011 , deputy chairwoman of the federal association between 2007 and 2011 and president of the German Association of Women Lawyers from 2011 to 2017.

During her tenure, the BMFSFJ- funded djb project women shareholders demand equality was successfully promoted, which significantly promoted the statutory quota of 30 percent for the supervisory boards of the listed and at the same time fully co-determined companies in 2015.

On behalf of the djb, with the alliance No means No, she forced a paradigm shift in criminal law: Since July 2016, sexual acts against a person's recognizable will have been punishable.

She also represented the djb on the Advisory Board of Transparency International in the fight against corruption. As part of her voluntary work in the djb, Ramona Pisal is campaigning for a German Parité law , which is supposed to regulate the quotation of electoral lists for equal participation of women in municipal representations , state parliaments and in the German Bundestag .

Since 2017 Pisal has been a member of the djb presidium as past president with an advisory vote.
