Randi Lindtner Næss

Randi Lindtner Næss (born May 11, 1905 in Bergen ; † May 20, 2009 ibid) was a Norwegian opera singer (soprano) and stage actress .

Life

She received her training as a soprano in Berlin and Oslo . In September 1928, at the age of 23, she made her debut in Walter Kollo's operetta Three Poor Little Girls at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen. She remained connected to this house until 1990. She played the female lead in nine operas and seventeen operettas and gave guest appearances at Det Norske Teatret and Det Nye Teater . She had her last stage appearance in 1991 at the age of 86 at the side of her younger brother Lothar Lindtner (1917 - 2005) .

As an actress , she was often seen in comedies by Ludvig Holberg . Due to her versatility, she also embodied central women in the dramas by William Shakespeare , Henrik Ibsen , August Strindberg and Nordahl Grieg . She died on May 11, 2009 at the age of 104.

Randi Lindtner Næss was the sister of the Norwegian actor Lothar Lindtner . Her children Berit Søder alias Berit Lindtner Næss (* 1931), Eli Lindtner and Arne Lindtner Næss (* 1944) also became actors. Her grandson Peder Hamdahl Næss is a director and screenwriter.
