Raoul Lambert (born October 22, 1944 in Steenbrugge ( Bruges )) is a former Belgian football player .

Career

society

Lambert made his debut at the age of 17 on September 9, 1962 for Club Bruges , where he spent his entire professional career until 1980. During this time he was five times Belgian champion and three times cup winner . In the 1971/72 season he was top scorer in the Belgian championship. In total, he completed 373 league games for Bruges, in which he scored 216 goals. In 1976 he was in the final of the UEFA Cup with Club Bruges . In both games against Liverpool (2: 3, 1: 1) he achieved the interim 1-0 lead.

National team

Between 1966 and 1977 Lambert played 33 international matches for the Belgian national team , in which he scored 18 goals.

In 1970 he was in the squad for the World Cup in Mexico , where he was used in the preliminary round matches against El Salvador (3-0) and against the Soviet Union (1: 4). In both games he scored one goal each. At the European Championship in 1972 in his own country, he scored the opening goal in the Belgian 2-1 victory in the game for third place against Hungary .
