Raoul de Grosparmy
Raoul de Grosparmy , or Radulfus , (* in Périers ; † August 10, 1270 outside Tunis ), was a Roman Catholic bishop and cardinal in the 13th century. He should not be confused with his successor in office in Évreux, Raoul de Chevriêres.
Grosparmy was a canon in the Chapter of the Cathedral of Bayeux and served between the years 1253 and 1260 the French King Louis IX. the saint as keeper of the seals . In 1259 he was elected Bishop of Évreux and consecrated the abbey church of Saint-Taurin on October 19, 1259 in the presence of the king. Grosparmy traveled to Rome in 1260 on a diplomatic mission for the king . On December 17, 1261, he was ordained Cardinal Bishop of Albano by Pope Urban IV . In the following years he was in papal service, for which he gave up his church office in France. In 1264/1265 he took part in the conclave for the election of Pope Clement IV . After defeat and death of Staufer King Manfred Raoul was from 1266 to 1268 as a bequest with the reorganization of ecclesiastical affairs in the Kingdom of Sicily commissioned.
Grosparmy was appointed legate for the seventh crusade by Pope Clement IV († 1268) . was cited. A few days before the king, Grosparmy died of the dysentery in August 1270 in the camp near Tunis .
