Raphaël Nannini

Raphaël Nannini (* 1852 in Florence , Italy , † 1925 in Lastra a Signa , Italy) was an Italian sculptor .

Life

Nannini studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. He worked as a sculptor in Italy, but also lived with his sister Maria, who was also a sculptor, in Les Fusains , an artists' colony at the foot of Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement of Paris , in the early 20th century . Here he created statuettes in the Art Nouveau and early Art Deco style , which were handcrafted and sold by the Éditeurs d'art and fine art foundries Les Neveux de Jules Lehmann and Edmond Etling .

Exhibitions (selection)

Nannini showed his work at exhibitions such as the 27th Autumn Exhibition 1897 in the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool with a marble bust of Pope Leo XIII. as well as the salons of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris, where in 1909 her plaster bust portrait of Madame Florence Gromier and the plaster statue Cimateur could be seen.
