Raphael Bögge

Raphael Peter Bögge (born October 19, 1979 in Vechta , Lower Saxony ) is a German politician and was the first mayor of Senden from 2014 to 2020 .

Life

Bögge was born in 1979 in Vechta, Lower Saxony, and was the oldest of five siblings. A few months after his birth, the family moved to Rheine in North Rhine-Westphalia , where he also grew up. He attended the Arnold-Janssen grammar school in the Neuenkirchen district of St. Arnold , where he graduated from high school in 2000 . After his community service he studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and graduated with a degree in geography with a minor in politics and communication sciences.

From 2009, Bögge worked as a personal advisor to District Administrator Erich Josef Geßner . He resigned from this position in April 2014 after receiving 58.3% of the votes cast in the mayoral election in March and thus prevailing against the previous incumbent Kurt Baiker from the Free Voting Association. Bögge himself was supported in his candidacy by the CSU , the Greens and the Citizens' Interest City of Senden (BiSS). On May 1, 2014 he took office as First Mayor of Senden. Bögge resigned from the CSU on January 13, 2019. In the mayoral election in March 2020 he lost 26.7% to 53.6% of the votes cast by the CSU candidate Claudia Schäfer-Rudolf .
