Raquel Cassidy

Raquel Josephine Dominic Cassidy (born January 22, 1968 in Fleet , Hampshire ) is a British actress .

Life

Cassidy was born in 1968 as the third child of a Spaniard and a British. She dropped out of her biology degree to pursue a career as an actress.

While she was best known in Great Britain for her role as Susan Gately in the series Teachers , she gained fame in Germany for her role as maid Phyllis Baxter in the historical series Downton Abbey . Also in Germany she was seen as a police officer Valerie in the German-Austrian-British film adaptation of the Charlotte Link novel The Other Child at the side of Hannelore Hoger and Marie Bäumer . In the British series A Lousy Witch , which is also broadcast in Germany, she plays Hecate Harschmann .
