Raquel Revuelta

Raquel Revuelta Planas (born November 14, 1925 in Havana ; † January 24, 2004 there ) was a Cuban actress . She came from a family of actors; her mother was Silvia Planas and her brother Vicente Revuelta .

During her 60 years of creative work, she has appeared in both theatrical productions and movies. In 1941 she founded the "Teatro Popular". From 1958 until shortly before her death, she led a group of theater students. She was also a professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. From this institute she also received an honorary doctorate in arts in 1985 .
