Raul Gangotena-Rivadeneira

Raul Gangotena-Rivadeneira (born January 11, 1945 in Quito ) is an Ecuadorian diplomat .

Life

Raul Gangotena-Rivadeneira studied chemical engineering and then industrial production at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional from 1976 to 1994 with a Fulbright scholarship ; at the University of New Mexico he studied business administration. He is married and has four kids.

From 1980 to 1984 he was managing director of the Fondo Nacional de Preinversion (FONAPRE). From 1984 to 1987 he headed the management consultancy Cofiandina Consultants . From 1987 to 1989 he headed the commercial department of Palmoriente Agro Industries . He was a board member of Quimasoc SA , Quito and from 1990 to 1998 in the travel agency Nuevas Fronteras . From 1989 to 1992 he headed the Chicos de la Calle Foundation . From 1994 to 1997 he was a lecturer at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito . From 1998 to 2000 he lectured at the Universidad de las Américas . From 1994 to 1996, when Ecuador still had the currency sucre , he was sent by Sixto Durán Ballén to the Junta Monetaria of the money-emitting institution. In 1996 he was the office manager of President Sixto Durán Ballén. From 1997 to 1998 he headed the Quito Nationwide Modernization Council. From 2000 to 2002 Raul Gangotena-Rivadeneira was a member of the presidential commission on a crude oil pipeline and sat on the board of the Ecuadorian Fulbright Commission. From 2000 to 2001 Raul Gangotena-Rivadeneira headed the Metrozona Free Trade Zone in Quito. From 2001 to 2003 he headed the Quito Chamber of Commerce. He has been ambassador to Canberra since 2010 .
