Rawson Marshall Thurber (born February 9, 1975 in San Francisco ) is an American director and screenwriter .

Life

Rawson Marshall Thurber studied at Union College in New York, where he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theater Studies. After graduating, he made the short film Terry Tate, Office Linebacker , which was published as a commercial for Reebok and received several awards.

Initially, Thurber was assistant to screenwriter John August . 2004, his first feature film was released Dodgeball , a critically predominantly positively assessed comedy . This was followed by The Mysteries of Pittsburgh in 2008, worked at the Thurber as a screenwriter and producer. His third feature film We Are the Millers was released in August 2013.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
