Rayagada ( Oriya ରାୟଗଡ଼ା ) is a city in the east Indian state of Odisha . Rayagada has the status of a municipality and is divided into 24 wards . It is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
location
Rayagada is located in the Eastern Ghats at an altitude of 220 m, 120 km from the coast of the Bay of Bengal . The Nagavali River flows east past the city in a southerly direction. The national highway NH 326 connects Rayagada with Berhampur, 150 km east, and Koratpur, 85 km south-west . The city is connected to the railway network.
