Mehmet Reşit Güner (born October 13, 1953 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

Güner began his career in the 1975/76 season at Eskişehir Demirspor . After this season he moved to city rivals Eskişehirspor in the 1st division . In 1977 he went to Gaziantepspor and returned a season later to Eskişehirspor. In the 1978/79 season he came only to a league game and left Eskişehirspor one more time and became a player of Tarsus İdman Yurdu .

Galatasaray Istanbul signed him for the 1980/81 season . There he could not prevail due to the large offensive selection and played for Diyarbakırspor for one season . Güner played again for Tarsus İdman Yurdu from 1984 to 1987 and showed his best performance there. He scored 40 goals in 61 second division games.

Coaching career

Güner was the first time head coach in the 1992/93 season for Bartınspor . This was followed by engagements with Adana Polisgücü , Yeni Samandağspor , Tarsus İdman Yurdu, Kızıltepespor and Nusaybin Demirspor until 1998 .

In February 2000 Güner became assistant coach of Adanaspor at the side of Hikmet Karaman . Güner Karaman followed a year later and became an assistant coach at Kocaelispor . His last coaching activity was at Adıyamanspor from November 2007 to June 2008.
