The Realschule am Kreuzberg ( also: Staatliche Realschule Burglengenfeld ) is a public, state school in Burglengenfeld in the Schwandorf district , which was founded on September 17, 1951. The catchment area extends over the municipalities of Maxhütte-Haidhof , Teublitz , Burglengenfeld, Kallmünz and Schmidmühlen .

The Realschule Burglengenfeld was opened on September 17, 1951, after Gottfried Frank had been appointed director.

For several years now, the school has also offered all-day care.

RSD Josef Hartung was in charge of the school until February 2014. With effect from February 15, 2014, this was transferred to the previous Second Realschule Vice-Principal, Klaus Biersack.

The Staatliche Realschule Burglengenfeld is located on Kreuzberg, near the city center. The school offers the elective subject groups I (mathematics), II (commercial), IIIa (French) and IIIb (art education).

The school is the only secondary school in the city triangle ( Maxhütte-Haidhof , Teublitz , Burglengenfeld ). The next secondary schools are in Schwandorf and Regenstauf .

Seminary school

With effect from February 21, 2000 the school was reappointed a seminary school for the subjects English, history, German and Catholic religious studies.

Awards

  • In 2002 the school was awarded the Innovation Prize of the Bavarian Education Package.
  • Since April 2012 the school has had the title " School without Racism - School with Courage ".
  • Since 2012, the Realschule has been a "partner school of the University of Regensburg" (PUR) together with 22 other Bavarian schools.
  • In 2013, two 8th grades of the school landed in 2nd place in the Bavaria-wide “Anti-Mobbing” competition and were also honored by the Minister of Education, Ludwig Spaenle .
  • 2018 Appointment to Fairtrade School.

Projects & electives

An annual report is published every year. Until 2013, the so-called "School CD" was also created by students of the multimedia elective. In addition to class and teacher photos, this also contains many pictures of the previous school year. There is also a theater group, the electives "Circus Arts", "Media Design", "Business English", "Math Talent Course", school newspaper and "Video Editing" and various music groups and sports teams.

The secondary school is also a member of the Comenius program .

Partner schools

The total of nine partner schools of the Realschule are located in Krakow ( Poland ), Prague ( Czech Republic ) and Drymos ( Greece ).
