Reawakening Pride Once Lost is the debut album by the Northern Irish folk metal band Waylander . criticism

The reviews of Reawakening Pride once Lost were very different. The album was mostly praised for the imaginative compositions, but the sometimes disharmonious and "annoying" flute playing was also criticized, which sounded like "an 8-year-old student from her flute lessons had been dragged into the microphone".

Nevertheless, the reviews were mostly positive. metalfactory.ch gave the album 8.4 out of 10 points and came to the conclusion:

“All in all, Waylander put a good album in front of our door. The slow pieces in particular are really convincing. "

- Kai Wendel : CD review

schwermetall.ch awarded 9 out of 13 points and wrote:

“I like the music of the five Northern Irish [Lady Oscura] in its rather simple way. This Folk / Pagan Metal is kept simple and therefore pleases the ears of those who also like to listen to Folk / Pagan Metal without any frills. The tempo is ideal for collective headbanging - 'Reawakening Pride Once Lost' is an album that is fun. "

- Lady Oscura : CD review

Robert Müller from the German Metal Hammer gave the album 5 out of 7 points and wrote in his review:

"I [De] n Songs [of Waylander's] debut REAWAKENING PRIDE ONCE LOST neither lack folkloristic catchiness nor catchy metal riffs. Tin whistle and the Gaelic war drum bodhran ennoble songs that are pleasantly balanced between Skyclad, traditional metal and modern extremes. "

- Robert Mueller
