Rebuild and Relief International
Rebuild and Relief International (RRI) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and is the superordinate organization of the two subsidiary NGOs Rebuild Iraq Recruitment Program (RIRP) and Rebuild Syria Reconstruction Program (RSRP), which carry out independent projects in Iraq and Syria . RIRP has been providing humanitarian aid in Iraq since 2004 and focuses primarily on the reconstruction and restoration of infrastructure . RSRP has not yet been able to start its work in conflict-ridden Syria. The managing director of RRI is Arndt Fritsche. The main branches are in Berlin and Baghdad .
RIRP (Rebuild Iraq Recruitment Program)
The Rebuild Iraq Recruitment Program is a non-profit and independent German non-governmental organization that focuses on humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of residential complexes, training support and refugee aid in Iraq. The organization was founded in 2004 and has since cooperated with the United Nations , the European Union , UNDP , UNHCR and UNICEF, among others . The organization's headquarters are in Baghdad. There are also eleven other branch offices in Iraq. These are located in Mosul / Ninwa , Erbil , Kirkuk , Samarra , Haditha , Baquba , Ramadi , Hilla , Diwahiya, Najaf and Basra .
goals and tasks
The guiding principle behind the work of RIRP is “Help the Iraqi people to help themselves to rebuild their country”. The core area of the organization relates to the areas of evaluation , development and implementation as well as administration, advice and control of the projects carried out. Reconstruction projects are carried out in close cooperation with local technicians, engineers, sales, specialist and management staff. These include reconstruction and renovation measures for residential buildings and public facilities, such as hospitals, health and sanitary facilities, schools and the repair and restoration of infrastructure.

RIRP is a German organization based in Berlin and Baghdad. All projects are monitored and controlled by the RIRP Project Management Board. The organization has 270 permanent employees, including 12 expats and numerous cooperating partners. Christian Bernzen , Johannes Kahrs and Reinhold Robbe (all SPD ) sit on the supervisory board .
