The Hægri grænir, flokkur fólksins ( German : Right-Green People's Party , HG for short , party letter G ) was a small party in Iceland that existed from 2010 to early 2016. The party called itself libertarian and based its ideology on that of the US presidential candidate Ron Paul . Founder and party chairman until 2013 was Guðmundur Franklín Jónsson .

history

The party was founded on June 17, 2010 under the leadership of Guðmundur Franklín Jónsson. When it ran for the first time in the 2013 parliamentary election , the party received around 1.7 percent of the vote, meaning that it did not receive a seat in the national parliament . Helgi Helgason had been party chairman since 2014 .

On February 27, 2016, the Right-Green People's Party was dissolved and integrated into the recently founded Íslenska þjóðfylkingin party (for example: the Icelandic National Front ), whose chairman was Helgi Helgason.
