Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo , better known under the acronym CRD Libolo , is an Angolan football club from the Libolo district . He is based in the district capital Calulo and plays in the Girabola , the top division of Angola .

history

The association was founded on August 15, 1942 by Portuguese in Libolo. After the struggle for independence and the following Angolan civil war (1975-2002), the association was re-established in 2006. Soccer, basketball and karate were the sports practiced. In the same year the professional soccer team started in the second division of Angola. At the end of its second season in the second division in 2007, the CRD was in second place and rose to the first division, the Girabola . The CRD finished its first season there in 2008 with third place.

In 2008 the professional basketball team started for the first time, and ended his first season in the country's first division with a fourth place. The karate department of the CRD also competed in the state championship for the first time in 2008, which it won straight away. In 2009, the CRD won the karate championship again, while he was runner-up in Girabola and the first basketball league.

In 2010, the CRD won the national karate title for the third time in a row, while the basketball team was cup winners and again runner-up. In 2011, 2012 and 2014 the football team of the CRD won the national championship. With the victories, the club qualified for the CAF Champions League competitions in 2012 and 2013. In the CAF Champions League 2012 , the CRD was eliminated in the first round, and in the CAF Champions League 2013 in the quarter-finals.

The club colors are orange and blue.

The CRD Libolo plays its home games in the urban Estádio Municipal de Calulo . The stadium is usually called the Estádio de Calulo and has a capacity of 5,000.
