Red Band Society is an American television series that premiered on Fox on September 17, 2014 . Like the German series Club der rote Bänder , it is based on the Catalan series Polseres vermelles and its book, Fortune Secrets from the Yellow World by Albert Espinosa . In contrast to its German counterpart, however, it did not achieve good ratings, which is why the broadcasting station decided not to continue it after 13 episodes.

The series was originally ordered as a pilot for ABC in 2011 , but it failed. Later, the broadcaster FOX decided to give the project another chance, although the previous broadcaster, which held the adaptation rights, remained on board with its production studio as a producer.
