Red Sky Coven is an English folk group . It consists of Justin Sullivan , singer of the band New Model Army , Joolz Denby , Rev Hammer and Bret Selby.

The band was founded in the 80s . The four friends were inspired by an evening at a folk club in Bradford and decided to become active themselves in this direction. Over the years, Red Sky Coven became better known, first in England, then also in Germany and other European countries, not least because of the popularity of New Model Army .

Concerts

A concert by the band is always divided into two halves, during which the artists present their work. The program is introduced by Joolz, who usually announces the upcoming Rev Hammer with an ironic swipe at current pop or rock stars. B.

He should be so lucky, lucky, lucky - the Kylie Minogue of Folk Music

Rev Hammer then presents his own works - English folk music, equipped with only one acoustic guitar. In addition, Rev is also a good story and joke teller, which he incorporates into the program as a loosening up. Often it is about sheep, cows or ducks. This is followed by Joolz, who reads her short stories and poems .

The first part is then rounded off by Justin Sullivan , who performs solo pieces, but also songs by New Model Army in acoustic versions.

After a short break, the whole thing is repeated again - this time with other songs and poems, of course.

Finally, the evening is rounded off with one or two encores. For this, the band is always looking for old music classics to present them in their own version (Joolz: 'Once again we will ruin a musical classic. It's tradition.') B. Minnie the moocher, Heartbreak Hotel, On the road again or Louie Louie. The 2009 tour ends with a current pop hit that is presented ironically
