Redemption is an American progressive metal - / power metal - band .
The band consists of former and current members of Fates Warning and Prymary . Earlier occupations also consisted in part of members of Symphony X and Steel Prophet.
history
Led by guitarist Nick van Dyk, Rick Mythiasin originally sang with the band, while Agent Steel's Bernie Versailles played guitar and Jason Rullo played drums. Michel Romeo was responsible for the symphonic arrangements. Mythiasin left the band in 2003, which is why Corey Brown from Magnitude 9 joined. He sang in live performance of the band until Ray Alder of Fates Warning , who had already sung a song on the debut album, agreed to be redemptions singer. The first album he appeared on as a singer was The Fullness of Time from 2005.
The band most recently accompanied Dream Theater on their US Systematic Chaos Tour to support their 2007 album, The Origins of Ruin . In March 2009 a live CD / DVD was released, titled Frozen in the Moment . At the end of September of the same year, the fourth studio album, Snowfall on Judgment Day in Europe, was released on October 6 in North America.
