Reden is the oldest workers' settlement in the Dombrowa coal basin and a district of today's city of Dąbrowa Górnicza , east of the city center.

In 1796, one year after the Third Partition of Poland , the first colliery in New Silesia was opened east of the village of Dąbrowa , which was named after the chief miner Friedrich Wilhelm von Reden (see Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego Paryż # Reden ). In 1807 the area came to the Duchy of Warsaw and in 1815 to the newly formed Russian-dominated Congress Poland . From 1820 to 1822 the first workers of the mine settled along the road from Dąbrowa to Gołonóg. The modern workers' settlement was built by the state under the direction of Stanisław Staszic between 1824 and 1829, after which it was gradually expanded (e.g. in the years 1836–1839).

The first Protestant miners from Saxony and the Harz settled there in 1825, which was the beginning of the Evangelical Augsburg parish of Bendzin and Dombrowa. The colony was also known as Kolonia Dąbrowa around the middle of the 19th century . In 1861 the first library was opened there in the Dombrowa coal basin. Around 1880 there were 182 houses with 1630 inhabitants in the colony and Speech was already considered part of Dąbrowa.

The Reden Pit was closed in 1935. Today the district has no industrial character. There are u. a. a tax office , Haller Park on the site of the former colliery, an aqua park, a weekly market .
