Reeto von Gunten

Reeto von Gunten (born June 29, 1963 in Grosshöchstetten ) is a Swiss writer and radio host .

Life

Reeto von Gunten grew up in Steffisburg in the canton of Bern . After graduating in 1984 he moved to Bern and from there to New York for two years , where he attended the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute . After his return in 1990 he initially worked as a teacher and then from 1995 to 2000 he presented the morning program "Szene" on the Swiss pop radio station SRF 3 . He then went into business for himself and earned a lot of praise and recognition for both his musical work and his lyrics. Since 2004 he has been back at the reorganized DRS 3 (name since December 16, 2012: Radio SRF 3 ), where he plays the morning broadcast on Sundays. With the scripts for the Swisscom advertising sitcom “Beck & Bondi”, he became one of the most sought-after authors in the country. According to the NZZ, his readings are considered “something of the hippest” that can currently be experienced on cabaret stages.

Reeto von Gunten is also the founder and owner of the Atelieer authors' workshop, which has set itself the goal of supporting authors in developing readings and spoken word events with the help of the collective and making them accessible to a wide audience.

Reeto von Gunten is married and has a father of two. He lives in Zurich .
